OK, well by now some of you know I am in the process of losing weight! For 3 reasons, I want to be healthier, I want to train to fight at least 1 fight in MMA, and I want to be able to keep up with my son Dylan. That little guy is fast! During this process of losing my goal of 46 lbs I am going to keep a blog not only so I can keep track but so some of you who may be wanting to do the same thing can gain your motivation. For those of you who are already in the process please feel free to post your ideas, what has worked for you, or any suggestions you may have for myself or anyone who may read this. Thanks!
So I started on January 8th by throwing out all my COCA COLA and beginning to eat at home more rather that fast food or buffets! I immediately lost 6 lbs in the first week. That's the only thing I changed! The 2nd week I started to work out at the gym with a past coworker. My first day I hurt my shoulder---old fart syndrome I guess. So during my 2nd week I did one chest workout and 1 leg workout and 'some' cardio. I did not lose any weight during the 2nd week. My eating habits were still being worked on as well as I did eat out a couple times on preplanned trips out.
Now on to my 3rd week--still down about 6 lbs from where I started. On Monday we got a chest workout in and about 45 minutes cardio during the day. After working on some vinyl designs and chasing Dylan around I decided I was ready for another cardio workout so off to the gym I went. All the elliptical machines were full so I got on a stationary bike. Before leaving I had done a solid 50-52 minutes of cardio. Man I felt good for about an hour--then I couldn't keep my eyes open. Off to bed I went. I must admit I sleep much better without the soda and junk food as well as working out.
So today is January 25th and about to head to the gym before to long. As of now I am down 8 lbs and would like to make that 12 before the weekend. We will see.
Til another day,
Darren
In the end, the game comes down to one thing: man against man. May the best man win.
207 to 149. Heres what worked for me. All cardio! My suggestion for right now if you want to lift weights do circuit weight training with light weights and high reps, done quickly with little break between exercises..keeping the heart rate up.
ReplyDeleteI hate the eliptical machines, I either run or ride bike with that being the core of my workouts. Congrats on the 8#, keep it up. Its an absolute blast each time you have to carve a new hole in your belt or buy new jeans that fit! Give Dylan a hug from uncle Denny.
dawg---We are using light weight with high reps. Why do you hate the eliptical? I enjoy running on it way more than the treadmill. My ankles and knees kill me after running on a treadmill.
